We have a horse sales yard based in Drumshanbo, Co.Leitrim. The farm is located on the outskirts of the town at the base of Sliabh an Iarainn Mountain and near Lough Allen on quiet country roads. There are nice quiet trekking routes with lovely scenery.
There are 22 stables in the yard. A mix of sales and livery horses. I generally have 10horses in for sale at a time. I have a pub as well which has taken up a lot of my time recently and I do not have time to put the work into riding the horses and bringing them on.
I am looking for someone who can work with the horses to bring them to their full potential. I don't rush to sell a horse, I like to give them time, get mileage on them, get them out to shows-show jumping, dressage, showing, cross country etc and get enjoyment out of them before finding them a new home.
The ideal candidate would;
* be someone who can turn their hand to whatever needs to be done; feeding, mucking out,grooming, handling horses.
* Experienced rider able to bring on young green horses if necessary. Riding out and schooling horses daily.
* Enjoy going to and competing at amateur shows-showjumping, dressage, showing, cross country.
Accommodation and weekly salary.
There is a local bus service that connects to the main town of Carrick-on-Shannon(13km away) which has bus and train routes to the rest of Ireland.
