Our very special Diego is looking for his next rider as his current rider is reaching the end of her pony years.

Diego has been with us for four years and has done something very special: he has taken his rider from being a 12-year-old beginner all the way to the Finnish Dressage Championships, the national youth squad and international FEI competition.
He is a genuinely well-educated and experienced pony who knows his job and can give a young rider the opportunity to learn, develop and gain confidence with a proper schoolmaster underneath them.
During his career Diego has successfully competed at regional and national level, including the Finnish Pony Cup, won regional championship medals and achieved placings in FEI pony classes both in Finland and internationally. Before coming to us, he also had more experience as a jumping pony.
Diego is light and enjoyable to ride and gives a refined feeling under saddle. He is the kind of pony that can teach a rider what correct riding should feel like.
We see his ideal next home as an active, dressage-oriented home with good training support, where he can continue regular work and enjoy being a true schoolmaster. He could be an excellent first serious competition pony for a developing young rider. There is no reason why he could not continue competing, but at this stage of his life we are not looking for a home where high-level competition ambitions are the main priority.
He could also be a wonderful quality riding pony for a small adult who appreciates a sensitive, well-schooled and experienced ride.
On the ground Diego is extremely social and loves attention. He is easy to handle, a favourite with the farrier, loads and travels well, and is accustomed to all normal routines of a competition pony. He can be turned out alone or with company and has also lived out on pasture.
He loves having his own person and learns tricks incredibly quickly – and, of course, he has enough pony personality and humour to keep life entertaining. ❤️
Diego is currently in beautiful condition. As can be expected from a 16-year-old pony with a long competition career, he has a full sporting history, which we are happy to discuss openly with genuinely interested buyers. Extensive history and material are available.
