I'm looking for a new home for my 16-year-old Tinker gelding.
He's been with me for 14 years; I bought him from a German breeder when he was two. He was gently broken in at the age of five. We spent most of our time outdoors. He's been everywhere, over hill and dale. We've also been on riding holidays and to the lake.
He was broken in by the national trainer, Mr. C. Geiger, about four years ago.
He hasn't been ridden since then, but is now driven sporadically.
He's trained in groundwork, enjoys liberty dressage, and can do some circus exercises.
All in all, a great leisure horse.
However, he needs an experienced handler, as a Tinker, he can be stubborn and likes to assert himself. With good consistency and knowledge of horses, he's a great partner.
He's always inconspicuous in the herd, usually in a low rank. He has always been the calm center of the herd.
He has been kept in an open stable his entire life.
Since he hasn't been ridden or worked (groundwork) in the last four years, he has limited back muscles and isn't being sold as a riding horse. He definitely needs more training for that. He has only been ridden cross-country a few times sporadically.
He is a horse that can stand still for months, saddled or harnessed, and he'll do anything.
He has never been sick, has excellent hooves, strong joints (he's more of the older, sturdy type), and no mud fever. He receives osteopathic treatment and receives regular dental treatment.
I'm looking for a permanent home for him with an existing friend who is looking for a buddy to enjoy his time with.
Or the right person who can respect the fact that he needs to be trained first before he can be ridden.
He is at our farm in southern Sweden.
