Haflinger & Shetland Pony – Seeking a Forever Home

Beskrivning
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are looking for a new, loving and permanent home for our two horses. This is the most difficult decision we have ever had to make, and we are taking our time to find the right match. A good home is our absolute top priority.
Ideally, we are looking for a place where they can stay together, as they are bonded and clearly give each other support.
**Haflinger mare – 8 years old – with pedigree**
A sensitive and sometimes slightly insecure mare with a big heart. She is honest, but reacts strongly to her environment and the person working with her.
She is not a horse for someone who “just wants to ride,” but for someone who values the process and the partnership. She does not respond well to pressure or force — too much pressure will cause her to shut down. If you offer her calmness, clarity and trust, she will give you something truly special in return.
She thrives on:
* varied work (dressage-based training, groundwork, long-lining, liberty work)
* hacking out (especially in the forest, which she absolutely loves)
When hacking, she has always had the support of another horse. However, with the right training and patience, going out alone should definitely be possible in the future.
I have trained her myself (with guidance) following a classical/academic approach, with a strong focus on body language, trust and mutual respect.
**Shetland pony mare – Roosje (Lovely Girl) – 8 years old – with pedigree**
Roosje is truly the sweetest pony you could wish for. Gentle, social, level-headed and very people-oriented.
She is traffic-safe and not easily startled. An ideal children’s pony and a real cuddle pony, but also one that enjoys having a job to do. Her previous owner has driven her, which she knows well, although with Dutch voice commands.
Important to know:
Roosje is not a pony that can simply be left standing in the field. She enjoys attention, likes to work, and deserves to be an active part of someone’s daily life.
**Background**
In August 2025, both horses moved with us to Sweden. Since then, they have not been in work. This means they will need to be brought back into work gradually, but with time, love and patience, this should not be a problem.
**Housing (very important to us):**
daily turnout
preferably 24/7 herd living
**What we are looking for:**
A home where they are truly seen and understood. Where people listen to what they need.
For the Haflinger: someone experienced, sensitive and patient.
For Roosje: someone (or a family) who will give her the attention she deserves.
Someone who does not focus on “performance,” but on building, trust and growing together.
Price negotiable – the right home is most important
The horses are located in Skog, Kramfors Kommun, Västernorrland.
